연주 시간이 장장 12분 10초에 달하는 대작이다
T.S 엘리어트의 연작詩
황무지(荒蕪地)에서 영감을 받아 만든 곡이며
전반부에 비발디의 사계(四季) 중 겨울을 편곡하여 넣었다
Led Zeppelin의 Stairway to Heaven,
King Crimson의 Epitaph 등과 함께
대표적인 락 클래식으로 꼽히는 곡이다
